Welcome to the history of our country -- history expressed through the lives of two families which were joined by the marriage of Greg Pirmann and Suzanne Bond. None of the people in the Pirmann and Bond families who lived before Greg and Suzie were famous (with one minor exception, to be explained later). None of them were national politicians or leaders of industry. They were farmers and factory workers, pioneers and relative new-comers. They were, in other words, the people who made America. Some of them came to this country more than 350 years ago. Others did not arrive until well into the nineteenth century. Some came as pioneers, hopeful of establishing themselves in what was then a very "new world", a world where the frontier began on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Others came seeking freedom from war and religious persecution. And still others came simply to make a better life for themselves and their descendants. We think that they succeeded. This website is dedicated to all of them, in acknowledgement of their courage and determination.
When we first thought about mounting a "family page", we went looking to see how other people brought their genealogical research to life on the web. We found as many different approaches as there are web pages. We decided to borrow a little from all of them.
