Third Ave el in the Bronx

The remnant of the Third Ave el in the Bronx was the last working place for the venerable Low Voltage cars and the 1939 World's Fair cars. Here is a sample of some of those cars as the worked the line between 1968 and 1972.

		149th Thrid Ave terminal. The line was cut back to here in 1956, when the Manhattan line was taken out of service.
		161st St. The lead car is one of the 1939 WF cars.

		1939 WF car at Gun Hill Road. This station is one of the rare places that a passenger walks down from a subway train (#2 or #5) to board an elevated train.
