The PRR GG1 was a classic electric locomotive that operated on the
Peensy mainlines from the 1930's to the 1980's. Here is a tribute to the
workhorses taken at various locations between 1968 and 1973.

Rahway, NJ. I have a movie of
this train too. I set my movie camera (Super-8) at the edge of the platform. I
then stepped away to get this shot with my 35mm. I then realized that the train
was doing about 80 MPH against the platform! I ran to save my movie camera and
tripod. |

Although not as long used as the
GG1, the E44 was one of the last electrics purchased by the Pennsylvania before
the merger with the New York Central. This on is a Levittown, Pa. |
