The GG1 Collection

with special guest appearance by the E 44
and P5's from Frank Goldsmith

The PRR GG1 was a classic electric locomotive that operated on the Peensy mainlines from the 1930's to the 1980's. Here is a tribute to the workhorses taken at various locations between 1968 and 1973.

North Philadelphia North Philadelphia, Pa. Ten minutes from 30th St Station
Rahway, NJ Rahway, NJ. I have a movie of this train too. I set my movie camera (Super-8) at the edge of the platform. I then stepped away to get this shot with my 35mm. I then realized that the train was doing about 80 MPH against the platform! I ran to save my movie camera and tripod.
